In his post, he points out that it is important for Ethereum to enhance its foundational values to serve its global users’ needs better. He emphasized that technological advancements are not, on their own, enough and that user experience and proper decentralization need to evolve concurrently. These upgrades advanced Ethereum's rollup-centric roadmap through technical improvements as Pectra boosted validator staking limits, added account abstraction for wallet usability, and enhanced blob throughput. To counter the growing number of blobs and to prevent aggravating the number of node requirements, Fusaka enabled PeerDAS, thus facilitating the data availability sampling. Transaction costs were greatly decreased by improvements in zkEVM performance and gas limit increases. Despite the technical advancements it achieved, Ethereum's price remained low the whole of 2025 and is trading at $3,108.56 at the time of writing. The disconnection between what ETH achieved and its market valuation highlighted the challenges in translating network improvements into investor enthusiasm. Protocol upgrades failed to generate anticipated price momentum throughout 2025. He stressed that the Ethereum community should focus on the long term rather than pursuing the next cryptocurrency revolution in 2026.<h2>Why This Matters to Ethereum's Future</h2>In order for Ethereum to be truly functional as a censorship-free infrastructure capable of supporting the free internet, the use of Ethereum has to be both usable and decentralized. A properly decentralized Ethereum maintains privacy, resists censorship, and makes the community less dependent on third-party infrastructure. Decentralized Ethereum makes it possible to securely participate in financial, governance, and identity applications. Ethereum usability also improves faster transaction processing, reduces gas costs, and provides user-friendly wallets and dApps. Better or improved usability also helps more people engage with the blockchain without encountering technical obstacles.
