Staked FX, also known as STFX, is a decentralized finance (DeFi) and SocialFi protocol designed for managing short-term assets. The core concept behind STFX involves "Single Trade Funds" (STFs), which are non-custodial, actively managed vaults with a brief duration, each dedicated to a single specific trade. The project aims to integrate social interaction with trading, enabling users to trade collectively and build an on-chain reputation as traders. This system allows traders to access capital from investors, while investors can have their funds managed by experienced on-chain traders. STFX operates on Function X, a layer 1 blockchain established in 2018 by Pundi X Labs. Function X was developed to bridge traditional financial markets with decentralized ones, including aspects like trading and payments. In 2022, Function X launched its EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) chain, making it compatible with both IBC (Inter-Blockchain Communication) and EVM. To enhance efficiency and reduce transaction costs, STFX also leverages Layer 2 scaling solutions such as Arbitrum. The platform had also built on Avalanche and Optimism during its initial proof-of-concept phase. The STFX token is integral to the platform's ecosystem, offering various functionalities for its holders. Staking STFX tokens provides advantages like reduced fees for both managers and investors, participation in governance decisions, increased capacities for vaults, higher performance fees, extended vault durations, and prioritized access to desirable STFs. Stakers receive 80 percent of the protocol's revenue, distributed weekly in USDC, with the remaining 20 percent allocated to the DAO treasury. A one-week cooldown period applies to staked tokens. Furthermore, an early unstaking mechanism involves a penalty and the burning of deducted STFX tokens, aiming to reduce the circulating supply. The protocol implements a flat 0.3 percent commission fee on all STF vaults and a 3 percent performance fee on vaults that close profitably. These fees contribute to a buyback, burn, and distribute mechanism designed to make the token a deflationary asset.
