In early 2024, the project underwent a significant transition regarding its native digital asset. Originally known as PLA, the token was migrated to a new version called PDA. This migration was a proactive security measure taken after a smart contract vulnerability led to the unauthorized minting of tokens. The move to PDA was designed to protect user assets and restore stability to the smart contract. The new PDA token, based on the Ethereum ERC-20 standard, introduced enhanced security features such as multi-signature controls and a decentralized autonomous organization voting mechanism for community governance. The PDA token serves as the primary utility asset within the ecosystem. It is used for processing transactions, paying for developer services, and distributing rewards to players. Holders can also participate in the governance of the platform, helping to shape its future direction. PlayDapp has also expanded its infrastructure through the development of its own mainnet and a revamped tournament service known as EZ Play.
