Lumera Protocol, with its native token LUME, is a high-performance, next-generation layer-1 blockchain designed for AI-driven Web3 economies. It focuses on decentralized AI services, trustless computation, and secure data storage. The project was formerly known as Pastel Network and has evolved to address the needs of modern decentralized applications. Lumera is built on the CometBFT Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism and uses the Cosmos SDK, which provides fast finality, modularity, and scalability. Its architecture features a Validator-SuperNode system. While validators handle standard proof-of-stake validation, SuperNodes extend functionality to host AI models, perform authenticity checks, and manage data. Sense offers AI-powered authenticity verification to detect digital fraud, such as deepfakes or duplicated content. It is used for all transactions and service executions on the network. LUME is staked by validators and SuperNodes to secure the network and is also used for governance, allowing token holders to propose and vote on network upgrades and other key decisions. It powers the decentralized services like Cascade, Sense, and Inference.
