USDG is fully backed by high-quality liquid assets, which include US dollar deposits and short-term government securities. These reserves are held in segregated accounts to ensure transparency and security for holders. The primary banking partner for managing these reserves is DBS Bank, a major financial institution in Southeast Asia. Technologically, Global Dollar is a multi-chain asset. While it was initially launched as an ERC-20 token on the Ethereum blockchain, it has since expanded to other networks including Solana and Ink. This multi-chain approach allows the token to leverage various blockchain features, such as the high transaction speeds and low costs associated with Solana, making it suitable for a wide range of Web3 applications. The project targets several key use cases within the digital economy. It is designed to facilitate near-instant cross-border payments, provide a stable asset for trading on decentralized and centralized exchanges, and serve as a building block for decentralized finance protocols.
