Diva Staking is a decentralized liquid staking protocol built for the Ethereum network. Its primary goal is to enhance the decentralization and resilience of Ethereum staking by utilizing Distributed Validator Technology, or DVT. Diva's architecture is designed to be trust-minimized, built on robust cryptography, and allows for permissionless node operation, meaning a diverse range of entities can participate. The project was founded by cryptographers Miguel Ángel Prada and Fernando Salvago. Diva Staking received a seed funding round of 3.5 million dollars in January 2023, with support from various investors. A testnet version of the protocol was launched in the summer of 2023, with the mainnet launch anticipated in the first or second quarter of 2024. The DIVA token itself is intended for governance purposes within the Diva Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO), allowing token holders to participate in decision-making processes for the protocol.
