Deri Protocol is a decentralized platform designed for the trading of cryptocurrency derivatives. It aims to provide a DeFi solution for users to exchange risk exposures with high precision and capital efficiency. The architecture of the protocol evolved significantly with the introduction of its V4 version. This version uses a two-component system consisting of an i-chain and a d-chain. The i-chain serves as the user interface on various public blockchains where traders initiate orders and manage margins. The d-chain is a dedicated application-specific chain where the executive engine processes all requests. This structure is intended to solve the problem of liquidity fragmentation by allowing capital from different networks to be unified into a single executive environment. The DERI token is the native utility and governance token of the ecosystem. It serves two primary functions: governance and privilege. As a governance token, it allows holders to vote on network proposals and treasury allocations. As a privilege token, it functions similarly to a VIP membership. Users stake DERI to gain specific advantages, such as the qualification to act as a liquidator or to receive discounts on transaction fees. Additionally, Deri Protocol tokenizes risk exposures as non-fungible tokens or NFTs. By representing trading positions as NFTs, the protocol makes these exposures highly composable, allowing them to be integrated into other DeFi projects for further financial applications.
