KTON did not have an initial supply; it is created solely through this commitment mechanism. Additionally, KTON can be acquired through cryptocurrency exchanges such as LBank. Once obtained, users can use KTON to participate in the network's governance and specialized staking activities that offer higher reward power.
Following the migration from a Substrate-based chain to the EVM-compatible Darwinia 2.0, users must transition their assets to the new system. To see your KTON, you must use the official Migration Dashboard to move tokens from your old Substrate account to an EVM-compatible account. Furthermore, you must manually add the KTON contract address (0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000402) to your wallet like MetaMask. This ensures the precompiled asset is correctly recognized and displayed within your wallet interface.
Users who lock RING to receive KTON are expected to honor the chosen commitment period. If you decide to unlock your RING early, a penalty is applied.
