Populous is a decentralized peer-to-peer invoice finance platform designed to assist small and medium enterprises with cash flow management. Businesses often face delays waiting for clients to pay invoices; Populous allows them to sell these invoices at a discount for immediate liquidity. PPT serves as the primary utility token used by investors as collateral to fund these invoices. Once the original debtor pays the invoice, the investor receives their funds along with the agreed-upon interest.

The project is currently viewed by many in the community as inactive or a legacy project. Official social media channels have remained silent for a long period, and public development repositories show minimal recent code updates. Due to the lack of consistent communication from the founding team, many platforms now categorize PPT as a high-risk asset. Potential users should be aware that the lack of active development poses significant risks to the project's long-term viability.

PPT has been removed from multiple major trading platforms because it failed to maintain the high standards required for listing. Exchanges regularly review projects based on development activity, communication, and liquidity. The Populous ecosystem features a three-token model. PPT (Populous Platform Token) is the core asset used by investors as collateral. Poken is an internal stable-token pegged to fiat currencies like the British Pound or US Dollar, used for the actual financing transactions to avoid price volatility. PXT (Populous Data Token) was introduced as a separate token intended for accessing advanced data services, such as credit reports and business intelligence tools within the platform.

Since its removal from many primary centralized exchanges, PPT is mostly found on decentralized exchanges (DEXs). While some smaller centralized platforms might still host the token, users should exercise extreme caution. Liquidity is generally very low across all available platforms, which can lead to high slippage. This means that executing large orders may result in a significant difference between the expected price and the actual execution price.

There have been no official announcements regarding a mandatory token swap or migration to a new smart contract version. Holders should be extremely wary of any social media posts or websites claiming otherwise. Such claims are frequently associated with scams designed to gain access to user wallets and drain assets. Always verify project status through legitimate sources and never provide your private keys or seed phrases to any platform claiming to facilitate a swap.
