Lista DAO is a decentralized protocol built on the BNB Chain, uniquely combining Liquid Staking and a Collateralized Debt Position (CDP) system. It enables users to stake BNB for rewards and simultaneously use that staked collateral to mint a decentralized stablecoin. Previously, it was known as Helio Protocol, which merged with Synclub to form Lista DAO. It has garnered significant support, including a $10 million investment from a major blockchain venture arm and was featured as a prominent launch project on a leading platform.
The Lista DAO ecosystem operates with a dual-token model and a Liquid Staking Token (LST). LISTA is the native governance and utility token, granting holders voting rights and a share of protocol fees. lisUSD is a "destablecoin," a decentralized stablecoin pegged to the USD, minted by users providing over-collateralized crypto assets. Lastly, slisBNB is the Liquid Staking Token received when users stake BNB through the protocol, automatically accruing staking rewards. The term "destablecoin" highlights its decentralized, crypto-backed nature, distinguishing it from fiat-backed stablecoins.
veLISTA, or voting-escrowed LISTA, is obtained by locking your LISTA tokens for a chosen duration, which can be up to four years. This mechanism grants holders enhanced governance power, allowing them to vote on critical protocol changes. Additionally, veLISTA holders receive a substantial share of the protocol's revenue (60% of fees) and boosted rewards in various liquidity pools. A key limitation to note is that once LISTA tokens are locked for veLISTA, they cannot be unstaked or withdrawn until the designated lock-up period officially expires.
Users can earn yields in Lista DAO through four main avenues. Firstly, via Liquid Staking, where staking BNB provides slisBNB and passive staking rewards. Secondly, by Minting lisUSD, where collateral like BNB or ETH allows users to mint lisUSD, which can then be deployed across other DeFi protocols. Thirdly, the Stability Pool offers LISTA rewards and liquidation gains for depositing lisUSD. Finally, Governance Staking involves locking LISTA for veLISTA, which earns holders a share of the protocol’s collected fees.
Borrowers on Lista DAO face liquidation risk if the value of their deposited collateral, such as BNB, falls below the Minimum Collateral Ratio (MCR) required for their loan position. Should this occur, the position will be liquidated to maintain the protocol's solvency and the stability of lisUSD. The specific collateral ratios vary depending on the asset used, typically ranging from 110% to 150%. It is crucial for users to monitor their collateral health closely and manage their positions responsibly to avoid liquidation.
The maximum supply of LISTA tokens was initially set at 1 billion. However, following a significant community governance vote (LIP-021) in August 2025, the community decided to reduce the total max supply. This successful proposal led to a 20% reduction, bringing the new maximum supply down to 800 million tokens. This adjustment was implemented to enhance scarcity and potentially influence the token's long-term value in the ecosystem.
