A bitcoin whale moved roughly $188 million worth of BTC (BTC) to a new address on Sunday, ending about seven years and nine months of inactivity.

According to Onchain Lens, citing Arkham data, the wallet "356my…BAsmK" moved 2,931 BTC to an unmarked address, "bc1qn…8gp25," at around 3:41 p.m. ET. The recipient address has not moved the bitcoin since.

The whale address last moved the bitcoin on Oct. 23, 2018, when the cryptocurrency traded at roughly $6,475 — meaning its holdings have gained nearly tenfold in value. While the reason behind the move is unclear, such transfers often precede token sales for the owner to cash out profits.

During bitcoin's all-time high levels last year, multiple large holders broke out of decade-long slumbers to move their holdings. Notably, one individual or entity moved over $8.7 billion worth of bitcoin after 14 years of inactivity in July 2025.

Bitcoin is currently trading at $63,376, down 1% in the past 24 hours as of 10:00 p.m. ET, according to The Block's bitcoin price page.
